Buddie – “Stressed in Paradise”

“Stressed in Paradise” is the latest single from Buddie – a fuzzy, grunge-pop tune that explores the pitfalls of modern society through the lens of previous generations. Now a four-piece band, Buddie began as the brainchild of Philadelphian-turned-Vancouverite Dan Forrest, who initially used the project as a personal songwriting outlet. The band has become known for tackling current events and global issues in their music, including social and environmental justice, anxiety, communication, and trust. With their upcoming album Glass, Buddie turns their focus to themes of consumerism and doomscrolling.

Buddie hooks listeners with a catchy chorus backed by searing guitars that elevate the melody. The accompanying music video evokes a sense of disassociation as frontperson Dan Forrest drifts through different scenes – appearing to float, untethered from reality. “Stressed in Paradise” sets the tone for their third LP, which delves into the contradictions of modern life – inequality, hyper-individualism, and the yearning for genuine community. In a world that often feels disconnected despite constant connectivity, Buddie hopes to offer a soundtrack for reflection. Glass promises to be a mirror held up to the chaos, asking us to reconsider what paradise really means.

“Stressed in Paradise” is released ahead of Buddie’s upcoming album, Glass, out November 7th, 2025 via Crafted Sounds. Preorder available here.
