some fear – “I Don’t Want To Spend My Money”

Oklahoma City’s some fear has released “I Don’t Want To Spend My Money,” a track that laments (quite earnestly) the act of, well, not spending money. Brandon “Bran” Palesano and his bandmates cultivate a gentle, lush soundscape, pairing it with soft vocals that fit the theme perfectly. The song’s lo-fi warmth invites you to into its modest but relatable dilemma.

“I Don’t Want To Spend My Money” arrives ahead of some fear’s upcoming sophomore album, Word Eater, which will be out next month via Rite Field Records. The new album captures the everyday struggles that drain us, weighing the importance of community and close relationships.

“This song is about the evil billionaires and companies living off of us like the blood-sucking vampires they are. While we live paycheck to paycheck, they get to live lavishly and abundantly. Makes you want to stay inside and not spend a dime.”
