Will Anderson, lead singer and principal member of Hotline TNT, has long been involved in the local DIY community in New York City and in Vancouver with the band Weed. He never quite found his footing that is until he started Hotline TNT as the sole member with a rotating list of musicians helping fill the gaps since the band’s inception in 2018. It has been an absolute blast to see this project flourish with 2025’s release of Raspberry Moon on Third Man Records.
Getting the opportunity to see the band open for Citizen at The Complex in Salt Lake City last week, on their biggest tour yet, was an absolute blast. The band backing him has really stepped into their role, allowing Will to deliver his blend of wall-of-sound guitars with power-pop influences in a dynamic and immersive way that needs to be witnessed in a live setting. The loud and distorted guitars pair well with the crashing drums, making the experience of the live show something entirely different from the record. There is an immediacy and presence to the band on stage that you won’t get from listening to the albums, and that makes the band worth checking out live.
