Heaps is the angular and ever-evolving indie-pop project of Warren Frank (the cool guy), Freddy Kwon (the style guy), Tanner Paré (the strong guy), and Luke Shauf (the 2 kool 4 skool guy). Formerly, the members of Heaps were in another mildly successful art/indie-rock group called The Kents, most known for their top tracks “Something About Her” and “Caroline (I Can’t Explain).” The band sees their transformation of becoming Heaps as a natural process of necessary change and freedom to work in a creative space without inhibition.
The Ontarian quartet released their debut single earlier this week and the energy-packed track titled “Softly” encompasses “an earnest meditation on emotional intelligence, what you present and who you are.” The song hits hard from the beginning, while simultaneously swelling up into a myriad of surrounding vibrancy.
