Who doesn’t love a band with a pun-inspired name? Seattle’s Coral Grief have released their new single, “Latitude” – a weighty dream-pop track that deliberately sways you through its hazy undertones. The trio; consisting of Lena Farr Morrissey (vocals, bass), Sam Fason (guitar), and Cam Hancock (drums); forge a subtly jangly tune, with an overall chill vibe that blurs the song into a mesmerizing haze, where shimmering guitars and airy vocals drift effortlessly, creating an immersive listening experience.
‘“Latitude’ embraces one of the album’s biggest themes: the evolving nature of a home, both in an internal and external sense of the word. Whether you live where you grew up or not, there’s always such a complex relationship with how it changes (or doesn’t) over time. Sam’s grandmother once said ‘I go behind the door to change my mind’ and that has always stuck with me. It’s such an evocative image. My grandpa is on the cover of the album, and I think that this song uses inspiration from loved ones through multiple angles to propel it into lushness and longing.”
