Mercy Land – “Get Lost!” / “Kid A”

Mercy Land are a synthwave/darkwave duo composed of Laura Jinn and Tatum Gale. The NOLA duo’s latest song, “Get Lost!” features Laura’s lofty vocals waft over a heavy techno beat, while Tatum supplies a punchy dark baseline that transports you to an underground warehouse rave on the outskirts of the city. In the song, we are guided through a narrative told second-hand, full of fickle romanticism (“You’re a tease!”) with an internet cowboy “jacked up on creatine,” beckoning her to catch a ride and “get lost” with him.

“Get Lost!” follows Mercy Land’s debut single “Kid A” which was a more melodic offering from the band, emitting dream pop elements that disintegrate into the dance-y beat as the song ebbs and flows. These two tracks come ahead of Mercy Land’s upcoming Termites EP, out this fall.
