Pictureplane – “Weeping Sky”

Pictureplane is the industrial “gothic hip-hop” project of Travis Egedy, a Brooklyn-based artist who splits his time between music, fashion, and art. His latest single, “Weeping Sky,” comes ahead of the Sex Distortion LP which will be out next month. “Weeping Sky” is a traversing dark wave track, with deep emotional undertones and sultry synthesizers that evoke a misty haze of longing and desire. With lines like, “A dagger of light penetrates the night,” and “In between your thighs we can synthesize,” there’s an oscillation between vulnerability and sensuality. The trance-y track pulses with a nocturnal energy, channeling the aesthetics of underground club culture while remaining introspective. It’s an embodiment of Pictureplane’s art – where industrial grit meets emotional catharsis.

“I wanted to make a song that was like slowed down emotional trance music. Some sort of goth trance banger. It’s a love song about longing and needing someone. The video represents a psychedelic night out on the town in Manhattan in a misty haze.”
