Strange Fruit – “Iridescent”

“Iridescent” is the first single from Strange Fruit in a decade – a steady yet melodic track that clocks nearly six minutes, with enough ebbs and flows to keep it from feeling overly long. The release marks a confident return for the group, reintroducing their signature blend of shoegaze-inspired sounds and trance-like rhythms.

Strange Fruit is a Jakarta-based band formed in 2012, consisting of Baldi Calvianca (vocals), Irza Aryadiaz (synths), John Tampubolon (guitar), Nabil Favian (bass), and Dino Kristianto (drums). Combining shoegaze textures with slow-tempo electronica, their music glides through hazy and hypnotic dreamscapes. The result is an atmospheric sound that hovers between nostalgia and novelty.

“Iridescent” is the first single from Strange Fruit’s upcoming EP, Drips, which will be out next spring. The release will feature four new tracks and five remixes from Jonathan Kusuma, Sean Johnston, and Tom Furse. This release follows a ten-year hiatus from the band after their 2015 EP release, Dolphin Leap.

“Iridescent” is released ahead of Strange Fruit’s upcoming release, Drips, out March 26th, 2026 via Gentle Tuesday Recordings. Preorder available here.
