Bones Forever is the Brooklyn-based solo project of Ben Weinman. His debut track, “Socks at the End of the World,” follows an emotional arc of heartbreak, recovery, and reflection. It asks the question of whether the marks people leave on us matter as much as the time we shared with them. The four-minute track never rushes, and its complementary swelling orchestration, courtesy of a seven-piece ensemble of family and friends, adds a layer of warmth and momentum to the music. “Socks at the End of the World” is gentle and nostalgic, yet the instrumentation moves it forward as if memory itself is gathering the courage to let go.
The single arrives ahead of Bones Forever’s self-titled debut album, due this Spring. The album has been in the works for the past five years, its tracks reimagined and chiseled away at over time. Ben co-produced the album with his brother, Noah Weinman (Runnner, Gigi Perez), a long-standing collaboration that has influenced the resulting work. The album also features vocals from Ben’s sister, Charlotte Weinman (Horsepower), and drums played by Marshall Ghalioungui. The accompanying music video for “Socks at the End of the World” was directed by longtime friend and collaborator Nate Hollander and shot/colored by Finn Pilcher.
