Scuzbot’s new single “Talking” is instantly infectious, sweeping you up into its uplifting gust of yearning and reflection. The Pennsylvania-based pop-punk band leans hard into their their melodic songwriting chops here, offering a taste of what’s to come on their upcoming album, A Great Place To Live. The record marks their third full-length release, and their first after a decade-long hiatus.
The trio, made up of Ryan Rispo, Jon Lucas, and Mitch Koehler; has been embedded in the local music scene since forming in 2012, and “Talking” feels like both a return and a renewal.
