Andy Jans-Brown from Byron Bay, Australia has released a new single, “Sunset or Sunrise,” ahead of his upcoming album Airport Departure Lounge, due out later this year. “Sunset or Sunrise” is infectious and danceable, creating an indie-rock, feel-good atmosphere while exploring themes of identity – who we are and who we perform ourselves to be for different people in exchange for the promise of belonging. The track delves into the absurdity of wanting to be loved “for who we are,” while simultaneously shaping ourselves to meet the expectations of others.
With “Sunset or Sunrise,” Jans-Brown poses the question: “Are we heading for a crash, the start of something new, or somehow both? Should we run, or should we dance?”
