Scary Tree is an indie rock project from New England and their debut single, “The Hint,” is out now. The track has a cool lo-fi sound that feels straight out of a bedroom studio, which Scary Tree self-describes as “angry instrumentals with soft feminine vocals.” The song is about taking a hint, a topic simple enough for Scary Tree’s laid-back slacker rock style to explore with both humor and sincerity. Blending fuzzy guitars and vocals, rounding out with a DIY charm, “The Hint” makes a strong first impression and offers an intriguing introduction to Scary Tree’s sound.
