Puggy Beales – The Joy Commodity

Puggy Beales’ latest release The Joy Commodity is where avant-garde dance punk meets nostalgic new wave, in concise album-form. The Joy Commodity marks the Montreal-based artist’s sophomore release, though Puggy is no stranger to the darkwave scene. The project is a solo offshoot of Amsterdam’s Baby’s Berserk, an angular trio born in 2020, where Puggy Beales is both a writer and vocalist. With nine tracks covering themes of socio-politics, romance, and more, Puggy makes sure all bases are covered in their debut album. The album emulates an underground punk-rave, full of emotion and energy.

  1. Quite like the song Trix. Makes me think of it you took some Bloodhound Gang drums, added the bassline from Another One Bites the Dust, and gave it all an eighties overhaul. Love it!
