Jangle-pop peddlers Good Flying Birds has released their debut single “Eric’s Eyes” which comes with the announcement of signing to Carpark & Smoking Room. The Indianapolis-based project’s roots started on cassette, by the moniker Talulah God on a limited run of Talulah’s Tapes and a string of cryptic YouTube uploads. The lo-fi 4-track recordings evolved to what’s heard on their introductory single today, and what’s to be expected in the future from the budding band. “Eric’s Eyes” is bright through a subtle fog of noise, drifting between nostalgia and discovery. Glittery guitar lines glide over a textured, noisy backdrop of reverb-soaked melodies.
“Has the world had enough of silly love songs?? We are asking once more. Written and recorded quickly on a rainy autumn evening. An utterly ridiculous moment of innocent infatuation through the lens of mad planets, early mbv, and rocketship, or at least that was the intention.“
-Kellen Baker of Good Flying Birds
