Total Sorry is the new EP from Houston-based Trembler. It marks the band’s first EP release since their 2022 album Folding. With these five new tracks, Trembler reinvent their approach to making music, peeling away their former noisy, melodic sound in favor of compositions that develop and breathe. Total Sorry captures a band in transition, embracing the quiet moments and pushing their boundaries as a group.
“Like Sugar” opens the EP in a trance‑like haze of spoken word and swirling instrumentation. “The Gonzalez Shoulder” follows with noisy, drum‑driven arrangements and emotionally charged vocals. Together, these first two tracks showcase the band’s unconventional and unpredictable style. The EP’s title track once again strips back the instrumentation – a signature move that highlights the band’s minimalist tendencies. As the track progresses, layers of noise gradually emerge, building toward an emotional climax.
“Wilt” offers a tender moment of reprieve before the EP’s heavy finale, “Love Leave The Body.” Ending the project on a loud note, Trembler unleashes a final burst of chaotic energy that ties together every emotional thread introduced along the way, giving the listener a sense of catharsis after all the suspense and unease.
“This release feels like a reset… Our last record was longer and more sprawling, with fewer repeated parts. On this EP, we tried to keep that sense of build, but write in a way that is more focused and direct. The lyrics are clearer, and the pacing is more intentional. It is also our first release with Rite Field Records, which we see as the start of a new chapter rather than just something in between full-length records.”
