La Sécurité – “Snack City”

Art-punk La Sécurité from Montreal has released “Snack City,” an upbeat track dedicated to snacks. The quintet came up with the song while on the road, turning into a game to see how many snacks they could list. There’s a subtle frantic undertone to the track, a signature of La Sécurité’s. There’s also a slight agitation that comes through in the music, a response to some recent unsolicited flirty propositions and lame pick-up lines received online.

“We wrote ‘Snack City’ when we were hungry. I started imagining this self-centered character with food stains and a pizza face who spoke without thinking. We then tried to name-drop the many snacks from our many hours on the road.”

-Éliane Viens-Synnott on “Snack City”

“Snack City” is released ahead of La Sécurité’s upcoming album, Bingo!, out June 12th, 2026 via Bella Union & Mothland. Preorder available here.
