Graves-13 are an emo/alternative rock band from Pico Rivera, CA. The band is comprised of cousins Anthony Perez (vocals/guitar) and Jonny Pizarro (bass) who have been playing together since 2013. In 2017, drummer Joseph Olmedo joined the band who solidified their group. They admit that the “13” in Graves-13 is doesn’t hold any significance, even though it aligns with the year they were established. Their name does give a nod to having punk-influence (think Blink-182) yet they have shown an evolving vision that reaches to further genres with their latest EP release. In addition to deriving inspiration from generationally shared experiences and self-expression, the band also point to artists like Descendents, Alkaline Trio, Smashing Pumpkins, and Dinosaur Jr as sources to their sound.
The band recently released their debut EP, My Wild Heart With Yours, a collection of 5 high-energy tracks that effectively showcase their sound to this point. Before this, Graves-13 only had a few singles out (two of which ended up appearing on the new EP).
