Wombo is back with the title track from their recently announced album, Danger in Fives, set for release on August 8th via Fire Talk Records. The Louisville-bred trio of Sydney Chadwick (bass/vocals), Cameron Lowe (guitar), and Joel Taylor (drums), has released two full-length albums, each showcasing the power of a band growing organically at its own pace.
The immediacy of “Danger in Fives” is undeniable, thanks to the meticulous attention given to every instrument. The bouncy yet tight bass line, the guitar weaving in and out to introduce new dynamic elements, and lead singer Sydney Chadwick’s hypnotic, mesmerizing vocals all draw you in for the track’s short duration. Even that brevity feels deliberate, as if to say, Come back for the full album—we’ll take care of you and invite you into our fully formed cascade of well-executed psych-pop.
