Wishy from Indianapolis closed out the Midwest House on the Sunday night before South By music showcases officially began. The five-piece played a strong set that built in intensity as it went on. Wishy’s live set catches you in a melodic trance that pulls you in and doesn’t let up. It’s rare for a band to get an encore at SXSW, much less have the audience demand it of a band playing the festival. The sound guttural and emotionally resonant all at once, envelops you in a cacophony of feelings and investment. Wishy proved to be one of the bands you should not miss at SXSW 2024.
