London based Eel Men formed back in tumultuous 2021, and they just dropped a new track titled “Exeter Exit”. The song delivers a sonnet of radicalized lyrics and catchy guitar breaks that remind me a lot of a modern, polished version of The Buzzcocks. The layout is a light and upbeat start, easy to sink into while the chorus still brings the drive and momentum of being just pissed off enough in wanting to actively call out and subdue all systematic faults in life. It brings a whole vibe of submission versus resistance in that it’s lightly straightforward, yet contentious. It’s upbeat, yet still expressing detriment.
